On a 1955 ford the pannel that goes under the trunk is it supposed to stick out a point in the middle or is the bumper supposed to v out in the middle. Also on the trunk lid when I had the good on the car it seemed that the part of the lid that curves down sticks out past the fender line when you close the lid. Maybe I got the wrong year lid for the ccar?

My 1955 ford was hit in the rear on the left side so we straightened the crease in the left fender, welded in a good rear pannel that goes under the trunk lid and we preceeded to put a good trunk lid on. The lid was 2 long for the car so we straighten the old lid and put it on. That fits better. Then when I tried to bold the rear bumper on the bumper hits the pannel that we put on. The pannel has a point in the center where the liscense plate light goes and that is where the bumper hits. I bought another bumper for a 1955 ford and that does not fit. My question is what is wrong the pannel or the wrong bumper. Sory for the long post
