Turn the head upside down or use a mirror. Look at the left head in front of the intake and read that number.

Thats where these letters came from. Engine is hooked up to a toploader with granny gear.

Birdman, looks like the boys are gone racing! Good times and fun expected. Those numbers you mention are jusT general item numbers, have a look between 1 & 2 exhaust ports and if nothing there try just under front of head intake manifold water inlet area, hope thats clear? Regards aussiebill.

I have access to an engine with head casting 6090-b, under valve cover at front is 069, and at back is 6190. Is this a 56 engine stock heads 292? Engine came out of 56 dump truck. Owner doesnt know if it is original or not. Thanks Earl in North Carolina.
