Fellas,
I have acquired a good T85 R11 to install into my 1955 Ford Club Sedan later on this year - most probably towards winter. At any rate, I would assume that the normal 3 speed crossmember on the light duty 3 speeds in a 55/56 Ford are not the same as the 1956 Ford cross member for the T85 R11 units. Has anyone on the forum done this swap and if so, are their modifications I can make to my current cross member with which I can get this done?

Meanwhile, I posted this in the classifieds in hopes that I would find a needle in a haystack BigGrin...

Looking for a transmission cross member mount to install a T85 R11 OD in a 1955/56 Ford passenger car frame. I am told that the 1956 Police Cars and 1956 Wagons with the 312 and T85 had this specific cross member, but I cannot verify that. Also, I understand that the crossmember has a "bump out" towards the rear? Searching through parts manuals it looks like this should be B6A-5059 XXX (at least a 5059 is what the engine rear support is called).
I do not know if Mercs would be the same concerning that cross member but I would think it would have to be a 1956 Mercury with the T85 specific cross member.
