Has anyone ever seen rear wheel dyno results for a stock 1957 4 barrel 312.  In the 57 Tbird its the D code.  Just curious.  I posted the question in a Facebook group and got one reply from someone who had a dyno run on their's but no longer had the results.  He thought he recalled it be 134 hp.

134 hp is approximately 56% of horsepower at the crank. Losses can be anywhere from 15% to 45%. If the 245 hp was reached without any engine accessories, adding accessories (generator, fan, water pump, power steering, fuel pump, and put a Fordomatic behind it, etc, I would guess 160-175 whp. 134 seems low. Condition of the engine, clutch/torque converter?

Chassis dynos vary greatly in my experience. Really depends on the “correction” factor they dial in. I’ve seen 400 “gross” corrected to 220. Seems like a lot. One local dyno is normally down 100hp from an engine dyno. The other local guy is down less than 50 from the engine dyno. They both have their reasons for the correction chart they use.
