Haven't done this in a while, but what is the best method of holding the thermostat in place while bolting down the housing? I have a couple of ideas, but would like to know how you guys do it without having the thermostat slipping out of position. Thanks!

I have had mine off a dozen times and always had the bypass hose and the 2 bolt fitting attached to the housing and Permatex #2 both sides on its gasket. I cut the hose about 3/8” short to slide it all together. I use a 360” Mopar high flow thermostat also. Good luck.

3M weatherstrip cement on the thermostat edge. Glue it to the housing.
