I am baffled at how a cloud can form in the Pacific, soak Seattle and travel all the way across the country and not run out of rain, soaking Rob before it reaches Maine.

I do lots and lots of flying and those clouds look like the fluffiest softest things that you wouldn't think could do any harm but they are the most violent things on the planet. Talk about sleepers.

Glad to hear that everyone is ok. Believe it on not IKE was actually strong enough that when we got the tail end of it up here, it managed to take down some trees in my town. Fortunately the only damage around my place was I lost the downspout to part of my rain gutters and a neibour lost a section of his fence. Thoughts and prayers to those who lost all they had!!!

I love the smell of burning rubber in the morning!

Amazing there was any left by the time it hit northern Indidana. But there was. We had 10.7 inches of rain over the weekend, 6 1/2" in one day, New records everywhere. I have never seen it rain that much here.

Here in Lubbock we recieved a ton of rain, as it seemed to not stop for a few days.

Texas Tech Staduim was filled with up to 4 feet of water!  It had to be pumped out with firetrucks.  They estimate it had over 500,000 gallons of water.

The weekend weather ended up being great and everything is good good here.

We are going to drive the Black '57 Sedan to Goodguys in Ft. Worth on October 3rd.  Hope to see some of you there.  Let's hope it doesn't rain.

I was on the outer fringe of Ike and the winds only got up to a bit more than 40 mph.  Received some good and long light soaking drizzle with occaisional rain.  The storm was originally slated to come my direction but ended up taking a more northern track.  Jim is about an hour and fifteen minutes north of me so He would have gotten quite a bit more rain and wind than what I received.

Based on the amount of rain we've had this W/E Ike wasn't impressed with the name!

Seriously, Ted and Jim, Pat, Ernie, etc, what's happening, no power?

Glen:

I concur whole heartedly.  I must also add that when I named my race car 36 years ago, I did so with no thought about how serious these storms are.  I in no way intended to make light of these storms, nor did I intend to offend anyone.  I merely thought that since a factory blown Ford was rare, so would be a Hoosier Hurricane.  I hope no one is offended.
