hey all yesterday i removed all the wiring and guages and switches/bezels from my 57's dash , and  i am wondering if it is possible to remove the dash itself completly or partly  the guy that sarted the body work on the car sandblasted w00t it and of course the sand went everywhere so i would like the take the dash out and try to get as much sand out  as possible

also this maybe a stupid question but does your original radio bezel's pattern match the other bezels on your dash  ?  on mine the bezel around the heater controls and the small one between the radio and glovebox have vertical lines on them and the one around my radio has a small square pattern  i dont think this should be  if some one has a radio bezel with the vertical lines and would want one with the square pattern id trade it   Wink as allways any and all help advice is welcome BigGrin

yes it can be removed. Just take off the windshield trim and you will find some attaching screws/bolts and under the front of the dash are some as well as the sides. May have to go upside down to remove the front ones . The knob I would think should be all the same. Check with macs auto parts and go to 1957ford.com website . John Gambill runs that site and he is a walking encycleopedia when it comes to 57s.Smile

I check my '57 Custom and it has the 3 pc. dash trim (heater, radio, clock) and it has the verticle lines with small lines around the radio knobs.Check to see if yours might be from a '58,they are interchangable(are your knobs or push buttons white?).Sometimes people will replace the knobs or the radio itself from a '58 if theirs quits or replace the entire trim for the white knobs and faces look. 55 Birdman: On removing the lower windshield trim of a 57 car. Isn't the lower trim locked into the windshield retaining rubber? He may have to take out the entire windshield to get at those fasteners.. Yes, no ??

thanks for all the responcesBigGrin

kid, thanks for checking your car for me the knobs for my radio are white and someone had removed all the push button for it for some reason or other  all the other knobs on my dash are black except the choke knob which appears to be a dark green

i went out tonight and checked and found the bolts that hold my dash in  the windshield was removed AND BROKE w00t before i bought the car

soo now i guess i add a radio bezel to my growing list of stuff i need lol
