Birdman We has a great conversation on the cam that you are looking for here http://www.y-blocksforever.com/forums/Topic8191-3-1.aspx?Highlight=b7a+6250+c I called Isky to see if an original grind of the 57 cam could still be had and never recieved a response. For now I gotta get the rest of the parts together before I seriously approach Isky again to grind one. Oldmics

Mummert does or did list a "C" cam. Also Engle has masters that will allow you closely match the "C" cam, along with matching valve springs. Same as Isky I'd imagine.

Thanks John for clarifying which cam was being asked about. That definitely redirects the question. I’ll simply add that in regards to the run of the mill ’57 camshaft, the Isky E-4 when ground on 112° lobe centers comes close to being a nice replacement. Not quite exact in that it's just a tad larger but has a super smooth idle with enhanced performance.

Guys: All of your suggestions for cams are good, but what you may have missed is that Birdman was asking for a B7A-C cam, which is the factory cam for supercharged 312s. Very rare, but I understand Mummert does have a replacement copy of it. John in Selma, IN

Birdman: I forgot to mention that Schumann's also stocks what they claim is the correct SAE spec Lifters for Y-blocks. Some off shore lifters sold in recent years, are of inferior quality that don't meet OE standards.. This is just fo info, I don't have any connection with Schumann's..

Birdman: Schumann's Sales in Iowa advertised stock of the 57 Cam some time back. Also stocks the Police valve train kits that they recommend with it. Ph#563-381-2416. Fax 563-381-2409. Be careful purchasing a stock cam thru rebuilders & suppliers . Most as I understand it are the mild post 57 - 246 degree units. I've never seen a Mummert ad advertising the 57 spec cam, but he may have it. ?. The closest he advertises is the slightly warmer 265 degree,440 lift cam that he recommends as max if using a Fordomatic.

Have you tried Kanter? www.kanter.comThey seem to have a lot of engine parts. I will be needing a cam myself for my 58 292 soon.
