I did get the governor out and it seems to work fine.  Another question.  Should the overdrive relay click when hooking a positive to the solenoid side and ground the relay?  I have mine on the bench and can't get it to click.  Any help would be appreciated.  Larry


I assume you examined/swapped the fuse, and cleaned the contacts (?). 
Age & corrosion takes its toll on antique electronics.  Even NOS relays may be balky, and not function like new. There may still be that guy who advertised in the Early Bird Magazine that rebuilds them with solid state components, should you find yours to be defective.
