Hello everyone, back in the Y-Block game with my 1960 Starliner 292 car. Car currently has reds single tube headers on it but I want to go back to the stock cast manifolds. Do the 1957 EDB-9430's fit the 1960 chassis with a 3 speed column shift? Thanks

Those earlier manifolds will work on your 1960 Ford but the later manifolds, with the squared off tops (which would be correct for your car)  have better exhaust flow than the earlier ones.

The flattop or higher flow exhaust manifolds made their entrance in 1957 and are recognizable by their square tops.  The pre-1957 manifolds had the round tops and while not flowing as well as the later manifolds, they will physically bolt in place of the later manifolds.  Of special consideration would be how the heat is supplied to the automatic choke.  All the round top manifolds relied on the heat coming directly from the intake manifold.  Starting in 1959, the heat source switched from being from the intake manifold to being supplied by the right side exhaust manifold.

If you plan on retaining the factory automatic choke, then you would want the right-side exhaust manifold from a 1959-1962 Ford.  Those manifolds have the ‘stove’ for the automatic choke in the manifolds.  If the factory automatic choke is not a concern, then the 1957 and 1958 right side manifolds will work for you if simply concentrating on keeping exhaust flow as good as possible.  If not concerned about the flow numbers, then the 1957-1962 left side exhaust manifolds will all interchange.

Note that the left hand 57 TBird manifolds are different that the sedans,\.  The outlet is positioned differently.
