Hi guys, over 40yrs of Yblock cars etc and decided to build 30A coupe hotrod with 292 +.080, tripower, top loader, 9" and old school look that i like, worked flat out on it for year and half, got it registered 4 weeks ago and drove it 800kms round trip to what is considered the mecca of rod runs held at Valla park during the 1st week of the school hols over the past 31 years. I was a little intimidated as 1st timer among 340 rods but after the dust settled and nothing but compliments from everyone, i realized i was the ONLY Y BLOCK ENGINE THERE! So i felt i was representing all you guys out there with my car and had a great time. Car and engine ran nice, the great exhaust note was a welcome change from the other types, must say there was a noticible increase of 302 windsor engines compared to the other types. i hope my pics show up. Best regards, Aussiebill.

Looks great, I see a trend to moving away from SBC in rods over here now too, people looking for something unique in their ride. Like the Number plate OHV 312, cool.

Bill, Congrats on your new rod. Must have been a blast to drive and show. I especially liked the nostalgic brakes and wheel choice. That Y-Block powered car would have held it's own at any car show I have been to across the USA...........

Thank you charlie and all you guys for nice comments, i know we all like to follow our interests for a life time and have fun doing it, especially yblocks and fords. Just a note! our biggest car race here in Australia is the BATHURST 500 or a sponsers name nowadays, held on a race track that is a public road normally that races up a mountain, down through twisty corners down the hill onto the great main straight, correctly named conrod straight! it was won by ford who held 7 out of the top 10 places against the chev, urgh! engined holden (GM ) cars. A true cause for celebration!
