OK I screwed up. Well I didnt but my friend did. Installing a set of 113 heads on my bird and I encountered a problem. When I had the heads worked the machinist installed a sleeve(?) in the hole where the sending unit fits. Sorry I dont know the proper name for it . But,when the sleeve was installed the sending unit wont fit anymore. The hole is too small and the threads won match. It went from 3/8 down to 1/4. I cant screw the sending unit in the new opening. So, my buddy said all we need to do is to take an "easy out" and it will come out. Well nice idea but no go. Now the threads are screwed up because the sleeve wont turn and come out due to the easy put spun around and messed them up. So, now I have a hole with no threads and a sending unit with no place to go. How do I 1. remove the implant or2. repair it to accept the 3/8 threads on the sending unit ? I dont have access to a bunch of tools and machinery to help me . Just muscle power and a few tools. Cant afford to send it to a shop to be removed. Wife is out of work and money is a bit tight for now.
My guess it to get a 3/8 tap and make new threads and it will fit ( I hope). Any help is appreciated . Yes he is still my friend. But he is on probation.
