I just finished installing one of Night Prowlers front end lowering kits on my 56 Club Sedan. This is a pretty cool way to drop the front. It was very inexpensive and is really simple. It dropped the front about 2.5 inches and doesn't even affect the alignment. It's a spacer that goes between the spring saddle and the lower control arm.I just drove it down rhe road a ways and the car actually seems to handle better than it did before.

I've run one for several years. Never a problem! If you want to lower your front it's definately the way to go! Chuck

I agree, but you can save yourelf the money and make your own, it is quite simple. All you need is about two feet of 1" x 1" aluminum bar stock and 12 grade 8 x 3/3" bolts ( I can't remember the bolt length). It is easier to do with the lower control arms out, but you can do it in the car. If you are doing the conversion in the car, MAKE SURE you clamp the springs with a spring compressor. I istalled mine on a work bench when I had the front end apart. Drill out the six rivets that hold the spring cup in place and make sure the holes are large enough for the bolts, but not a sloppy fit. Now cut the bar stock to the length of each side of the spring cup and mark where the holes are. Drills these out (easier with a drill press) and re-install the spring cups to the control arms with the bar stock as a one inch spacer. Now re-install control arms in the car.  That's it! This in conjuction with the stock Granada spindles on my car, lowered my front end a toal of 4". I isnstalled (highly recomended) a set of gas shocks and the car rides like a dream. Oh yeh, you will also have to cut about 3/4" off you snubbers so that you don't bottom out. And remember to get an alignment after you install this, I will thow your camber out a bit.

You're right! If I had realized before buying the kit how simple it is,I'd have made it myself.Only thing is,the bolts with kit are 7/16 diameter, not 3/8.I don't know if the larger bolts are necessary but that is what comes in the kit.Only problem is the bolt on the snubber is too short now,so I'm going to have to weld a little extra onto it.I am going to the front end shop next week, but I don't believe anything will need changing. The car still drives perfectly.
