That's interesting but I would have done a 4x2 in a completely different way. I have seen a low profile 'cross-ram' style intake where the runners cross each other.

Look for the scrub K350 DCO version.

The reason I'd prefer this style is to make the runners a little longer. Also, it has a lower profile if you're fitting the engine into a car. Also, the runners don't have an upturn in them, making them a more direct shot into the intake port. And notice how the runners are interleaved in the scrub intake. Shaping the intake so the runners line up better with the flow of the head's intake ports would also help.

Of course, adjusting the rockers would be a pain with the carbs hanging over the rocker covers.

Best regards,

Ok, I'll take one of those too!

I was also wondering just yesterday if one couldn't do a similar setup with the new Barry Grant 2's being offered. Cool factor would be high and could probably be made to work efficiently if you have enough time and money.

I would cut the hood of my Bird for something like this! he he. Cool

Here’s an intake manifold for Weber carburetion for the Y that I came across on the Hogans Racing Manifolds website.  While the pricing was not given, you can be assured that you can buy at least a couple pair of aluminum Y-Block heads for what this jewel costs but will definitely set you apart in a crowd.  And a run of the mill camshaft when using a Weber intake is also out of the question.  For this particular intake, the camshaft likes a wide lobe centerline and an early intake valve closing event which will require a custom grind.
