The little roadster is going to be a wild ride.........

This combination was in roadster last summer Smile. Now we are looking new frame for it. Do anyone have a good rolling FED-frame or altered on backyard? Tongue

Our measuring point for the boost pressure is taken just above the intake runner number eight at the left intake manifold and the other point is just above intake runner number four at the right intake manifold. These two points are connected together and then routed to the boost gauge. 10.3 psi from there.

Thanks for the info.  I'm building for street drivability and engine life, so am happy with 6 psi.  I think to make more than 6 psi effective rather than reaching diminshing returns, I would have to make quite a few more changes to the heads, etc. to make it flow.  I'm keeping it simple and trying not to dodge flying parts!BigGrin Seriously, it is fascinating to see what you are achieving.

By the way, it just occured to me that I am talking about boost measured in the intake manifold.  If I measure boost at the blower outlet, it will be 10-12 psi.  The boost in the intake manifold is a closer measure of what is getting into the cylinders (even less than 6 psi) after pressure losses getting through the bonnet and the carbs.  So technically, I am speaking about 10-12 psi of boost, but when it is measured in the intake manifold, it is a lot less.

Sweet!  When you guys get all of that figured out it will be very strong.

Then you should put it into kit form.

Seppo - Congrats on a great set of runs - you guys are really getting up on your game. The little roadster is going to be a wild ride.........

US guys - the conversion factor for "Newton Meters" to Ft-Lbs is:

Nm x .7306 = Ft-Lbs

The exhaust pressure is measured under the turbo flange, so the turbo is the biggest restriction. It just doesn't flow enough at the exhaust side and it starts to slow down the engine after 3000 rpm.

Our primary tubes are 1.5 inch diameter from the inside and after the collectors the tube size is 2.5".

The down pipe from the turbo is 3" diameter.

6 psi is for chickens BigGrin. At first I planned to try 10 to 17 psi at the dyno, put I quess it was wise to stay at 10 psi with the totally stock bottom end with cast pistons and 630 Nm of torque?

Holy smokes.  That thing is cooking!  What type of heads, exhaust valves, and header pipe sizes were you running?  I am building a blown y-block and have a discussion going in another thread about what size headers to build.  Is your flow restriction in the heads, the headers, or both?  I am planning to run only about 6 psi of boost through the carburetors so might not see as much restriction as you did.

Thanks Jyrkä. And in that chart temp 4 is temperature at intake duct after intercooler and that shows that our intercooler was very effective. Only +35 degrees celsius after eight pulls.

We didn't measure the before intercooler temperatures however.

No detonation issues with 33 degrees of advance at full throttle.
