Frank: Shortly after that announcement, the city and the union agreed (that in itself is a shock) that during storms, some employees would be called in early and leave after 8 hours, others would come in later and leave after 8. Actually, the weatherman has been a big player in this, we have had no snow to speak of, and only a couple small ice problems. Surprisingly, no weekend stuff. John

Frank: Must be the new mayor in Muncie. She decided there would be no overtime for street crews, only snow/ice removal weekdays 7-3. You've heard about God looking out for fools. He doesn't send bad weather here anymore. I live in the same county as Muncie, so I benefit from all that. Maybe when the mayor sees that we don't get bad weather anymore, she can lay off all the street department workers and sell the equipment. John

Hoosier Hurricane (12/23/2008)
Dan: Thanks for the birthday greeting. We didn't get enough ice to bother us, just made the sidewalk slick. Today we're supposed to get about .1 inch of ice, then turn to rain. Not sure how you managed that, we have about an inch of ice, 4 inches of snow, and now it's raining!

John,
Birthday congratulations (belated) from myself also, and best wishes for the holiday season!
Thanks again for the old valves you sent. They were much appreciated.
P.S. Did you get hit with that ice storm over the weekend? A few homes around here STILL don't have electricity.
