Can someone tell me how to get the old fresh air damper door assembly out of the passenger side and replace it with a new one I purchased from Mac's. This is a complete new door and rubber I want to install. Thanks...............Ron

Let me know - I'm about to pull out the vent system on a TBird and would be very interested.

My car is a 1955 Ford Customline. Magic-Aire Dampers located just under the top of each front fender. Remove the clamp and cable at the top of air duct. Remove (3 screws) at the split duct behind the valve duct and slide to the rear of the car out of the way. Now remove the 4 nuts on the fenderwell side (look above the front tire) holding the valve duct flange to the innerfender apron and pull out the valve duct assembly. Turn the duct upside down and gently tap the bottom of the valve actuator rod (I presoaked my rod the night before with Master Blaster Rust Remover). Grab the top of the rod with a pair of vice grips and wiggle back and forth until the rod slides up and out of the old damper assembly. Reverse procedure with a new damper valve (metal & rubber) from Mac's Ford Parts or rebuild your old ones with a rubber kit available from various vendors. I opted for a complete new damper valve assembly (metal & rubber). Adjust cable so valve is working properly and put some type of sealer over the 4 nuts so they don't rust. I used dum/dum. Looks like & works like clay. HAVE FUN!!!!!! Ron
