Hello All! Just bought a NORS speedo cable for my 56.The cable does not have any lube in it as received.Should this cable be lubed prior to install or put in in as is?

On a different subject Earl when you want some more snow come on up we are giving it away. If you run out I can send more from Indiana.

Just make sure none of that snow comes down here. Got enough of that in Montreal. After one year up there the fun of snow was ruined. Too much work and cold!

Tom I used to live in Montreal. I love snow. If I could get a teaching job up there we would be neighbors.

Bought a new rubber-covered speedo (or tach, can't remember) cable 10 years/70K miles ago that came full of dry lube. No problem with it.

I now use dry powdered graphite for speedometer cable lube. I have used grease and ATF in the past only to have a chattering cable after ~5 years thus requiring a good cleaning and a relube. Grease or oil will tend to deteriorate over time as well as attract dirt or grit.
