I'm wondering if the idler arm bushings on my '57 (manual steering) are a press fit? I have the complete steering linkage setup on the bench with the goal of changing the bushings out for new ones, and don't really care for the B.F.H. option... Thank You

Hi; I believe that the idler arm bushings are threaded left and right handed and are screwed onto the idler arm. Check the new bushing.

Pete- thanks for your timely (and correct) answer- I was usind a Ford body manual and it made reference to cotter pins and castellated nuts which obviously didn't apply to the T-bird. After I cleaned 50 yrs. of crud off and soaked everything down with a liberal amound of Kroil I was able to unscrew the bushings by hand. -Thanks Again- Duckman
