Thanks for the tips. I got tired of waiting for spring and went out and drilled my fenders for the sights. Since the spears are 8 inches long, I took your advice and measured back 4 inches from the edge of the headlight bezel. They look great. Gt

ok, I couldnt wait. I just ran out and measured mine. Remember mine is a 59 with the "bird" sites on mine, but it is just short of 4 inches, from the edge where the chrome headlight bezel meets the painted fender to the edge of the chrome piece of the "site". Hope this helps somewhat. Im not the best at the exact measurements on a tapemeasure, but if you go just a bit shy of 4 inches then you should be fine. On a 59 at least. Again, hope this helps. If not, I tried.

on my 59 they are about 4 to 5 inches back from the headlight bezel. I will try and get a more exact measurement to you tomorrow if somebody else doesnt beat me to it. Also, Im not sure that my 59 Fairlane will be the exact measurements that you are looking for. Anyway, I will measure and try and get back to you.

Gordie: I'm not sure, but weren't those spears an after market item? If so there wouldn't be existing holes. But, ??

On my 58 Fairlane I want to mount the fender spears/gunsights but there are no holes drilled in the fender. Does anyone know how far back from the front headlight bezel the holes are to be drilled? It's 18 below zero here on the north side of Lake Erie, or about zero in american degrees. I want to work on my car so bad but every time I go to the garage, I freeze in 5 minutes. When is spring coming? Gt
