My friend just bought a 55' ford with a 272 c.i.  engine. The engine has the "power package option" which means it has a four-throat, concentric downdraft carb with factory duals.. The old carb is wore out. Can someone suggest a replacement carb that will bolt on with the same linkage and fuel line setup? Can this original carb still be purchased? Appreciate all input and thank you in advance.  Ron

I assume it is a 4000 series t-pot which kits are still available from the t-birb parts stores, making a rebuild a good choice.

Yes..........It is a T-Pot 4000 Holley. My friend is checking with www.ponycarburetors.com at the present time to see about a rebuilt replacement. Thanks for your comeback!!!~~~~~~~~~~~Ron

I hear Ponycarburetors are right pricy but build an excellent carburetor for any application needed.

When it comes to the T-pot their the ones I would use.

Ron,

Your buddy will be happy with everything but the price. They did mine on my F code, and I was happy except with some machine work in the fuel inlet. I can't really be sure they caused the problem. The rest of the carb was beautiful. It runs over 100mph in the quarter mile, so it must work!
