Nice little article in Legendary Ford Magazine (Jan/Feb 2009)issue pg.#37 by Ted Eaton on building a nice 292 y-block,gives part # and top 5 things to look for in build! Nice job Ted-"you da man". By the way Ted is this a description for a nice street motor or something a little more radical? Also it states that if a person assembles the engine them selves about $3750--How much would you charge to build this engine if the person was mechanically chalanged ?Again kudos on the article, always great to see more info on the y-block out there! Thanks for the compliments. I haven’t seen the article yet so I’m not sure how Colin Date at LFM put the information together that was sent to him but the info was specific to a street driven engine. Although I had contemplated including the information for a Y racing engine, it ended up being too much information for what Colin was requesting and the price for that jumps up a bunch. Pricing for a basic blueprint assembly starts at ~$550 and add more for frills like porting, aluminum rocker arms, etc.
