John,

It's not like I can run down to the local NAPA and get one. Like I said, only repros (I've seen) available today quite different. If you don't need it, please send one and I will repay your postage plus whatever you think the spring is worth (I e-mailed you my address again).

P.S. Still remember your previous generosity (old valves) and since I'm starting to accumulate a few misc. "Y" parts/hardware, keep me in mind if you need something I can send in return.

Dan:

I have some then, used ones.  But the postage would be more than the spring is worth.

John,

Right. Sounds like an original spring. Noticeably larger/stiffer (though fewer coils) than the replacement type.

Dan:

Are you talking about the conical springs about 2" diameter on the big end and about 1/2" on the small end.  Go between the metal inner door panel and the fiberboard of the door trim panel?

Doug,

I am having the same problem as Paul, I have sent several emails about the cowl vent handle/linkage and it appears you never got anything back. I think you already have my email address if you want to use that.

Re: Door Hardware: I'm looking for an original 50s Ford handle/panel spring. The shorter repros they sell today leave the handle loose & rattling (especially on a T-Bird where the only inside handhold for closing the door is the operating handle itself). I chrome-paint a rubber water filter washer now (perfect fit) to use as a spacer, but while the original springs are a bear to install, I still like the factory look.

Paul I have thought of something like JB weld but that stuff is really strong and I dont want get in the situation where I would have to cut the handles up to get them off.
