I just wanted to share a few photos of my new toy that was dropped off today. The cab is a '58 but the chassis is a '65 F-350 with twin I-beam and a 352 (It is a Y technically) If you read the thread about my brakes, this is the solution. It may be a couple of years away but it's a good start. Charlie and I will try to start the engine in a week or two and I'm sure to have video of it posted.

Looks like alot of my projects, but like my old grandpa used to say, "Boy you got to have vision". I've got a 66 F250 that I've been thinking about putting on a a later model F350 chassis with a 7.3 powerstroke. Would make a nice tow truck.

There is a 50 somethin F500 in a salvage yard near me. Let me know if there are any body parts you need.

Hi tim. enjoy your engine building expeirence and tips, the truck looks like a winner! could the engine be 390 instead of 352? bit hard to see real clearly but valve covers look more like 390 galaxie? perhaps. Would be bonus if so. just thought id ask. Best regards, Aussie Bill.

CEREAL KILLER (2/22/2009) WHOA, what's with the right front spring (picture #3) hanging out there, Looks a little dangerous. The spring has just popped out of its seat, did you see the rest of the truck? I think that is the least of my things to be sorted out before this thing hits the road. Bill, I was told it was a 352 but but if it is a 390, Great! I have already thought about this and if it is a 352 now it's gonna be a 390 when I'm done.

I don't like the old "six nine" that much though and to build a powerstroke was just not in the budget.

Just thought I'd add, Charlie and I pulled the plugs, shot some oil, and tried to turn her over yesterday. Wouldn't budge! Two cylinders are rusted solid. We even tried to pull it in forth with Charlies tractor to break it loose, no go! Oh well. I had planed on making a 390 out of it anyway. Next step is to pull the engine and trans, clean up the frame and shoot some paint on it. Then I plan on taking the cab home, strip it and make it look new. It's easy to say but I suspect it will take some time. I did get the springs back in their seats at least. watch! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TpwYXuwTY4I&feature=channel_page
