I'm tempted to buy yet another 312, this one a 57. I already have three 312 blocks but only one crank. What I really want are 292 blocks.

The advantage of 292's are 292 crankshafts. 312 crankshafts seem to go for a premium. 292 blocks can be bored to 312 sizes. In high performance applications, 292 bottom ends, especially the main bearing caps, are stronger.

Here's another question. With McTim64's 341 CID Y-block, what engine did he start with? I know he bored & stroked to get to the 341 CID displacement...
