The heads and intake on the F code were different also. And, obviously the carb on the F code was a completely different animal.

We went through this on the cams a year or two back. The consensus was that most E/F codes came with the 256 degree std. 57 cam. The "Blower Cam" was also used, Don't really know if it was a factory or dealer installation. Maybe Hoosier can shed light on that. There are indications that there might have been a third, more radical cam used on some (early?) cars. Dennis K had some specs on that one.

However, if the car was modified, as you said, the cam is most likely an aftermarket, ( ISKY or comparable,) cam anyway.

Since it sounds like your "E" code car has been modified over the years, the factory differences between the "E code equipted vehicles and "C" code styles have probably been altered (or not).

Specific to the "E" and "F" code engines (other than the obvious fuel delivery systems) were dual springs on the valves, heavier duty push rods, and also availiable but not the norm was the higher horsepower camshaft.

Different part number distributor on both the "E" and "F" car.Different advance curve than the "C" engines. The "F" distributor is a dual point.

A heavier duty trans if the car was an automatic.Of course serial numbers.

Think thats it.

You and me both, I have been looking at the car for years. Dad died a couple months ago and it was moved to heated storage, since his son lives out of state it will stay there for the time being. I recall a black and white photo taken at Bonneville with him and his wife as  co-pilot/crew chief, it still has the salt flats window sticker from that year on the windshield, did 152mph I think. The only time I can remember hearing it run, it sounded really mean.......I know its not stock, wild cam and loud...At some point in the late 70's he sold off the blower parts (arggg), and added alcohol/water injection to help with deto. and modern fuels. It was know as the "Corvett Gobbler" and has tiny little stick people here and there in the pinstriping doing ...........

Other than the obvious twin holly's, any other big changes? My cousin just recieved one his dad bought new in 57, raced at Bonneville in around 62' and drag raced for years. Black with 3 speed and overdrive, at Bonnevile it was dressed up in "F" code trim with a Paxton feeding the twin carbs.    (sorry no pics yet)
