it is a 1955 ford customline 2 door yes the trim that goes below the side windows the window sill molding clips for the side windows.

Thanks for all the help I finally was able to figure out how they work and i installed them along with the trim.

   Concours and Dennis carpenter have them. Amazingly enough I found some at my local Auto parts store also.

I put a flat head screw through the center of mine and a wing nut on the back. Tightend them up and they are still tight. Worked for me! Don't forget the body sealer (dum-dum) around the holes stops leaks, rust etc. Chuck in NH

I tried but when I bent the center it did not spread the molding clips so I bought a kit for 87.00 from t bird and i can't seem to figure them out. Is there a  easer metal clip that I could buy?

I’m not a body man but will give this a shot from old memories as it's definitely been awhile since dealing with side mouldings.  Take a pair of pliers and press the retaining tangs together on the body side of the clip just enough that the clip will go back into the body hole.  With the clip then placed into the hole, use the pliers on the out side of the clip and lightly press the topside of the tang edges back together which in turn spreads the tangs out tight into the body holes.  Just a pair of plain pliers will suffice.  And put some body putty in the holes before installing the clips so they don’t rattle and keep moisture from free flowing through the body holes.

I am getting my car primed so I removed the side molding on the body and removed the clips gently with a screwdriver but how do they put them back on. Is there a tool that squezes the tabs so you can put them back in the holes on the body?
