The Offy cross ram setup is a new one on me. I wonder how well they worked on a Y-Blk? Ted, I don't know what your memory of a Dual 4 barrel Customline hardtop is, but mine is that Curtis Turner won the Southern 500 in 56, going away with one. As I recall it was brought to my attention in some information sent to me a few years ago by Richard Gaston, who unfortunately left us this week. I don't think there was more of a Ford Y-Block enthusiast anywhere, than Richard was...

pintoplumber (3/23/2009) Nice pictures Charlie. Did you drive the truck down? Is it running? It is running but I didn't drive it down. I need to address the low speed cooling issue. Didn't want to get caught in traffic and have to deal with overheating. It's on the list this year. I've been driving it a lot around town, though, more often than I drive the car.

The cross rams are an attachment that bolts to the two four barrell manifold. They were used on a LOT of scrub engines and appear on EBAY regularly. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Offenhauser-Cross-ram-setup-NO-RESERVE_W0QQitemZ250394434107QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item250394434107&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=72%3A1171%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/58-59-60-61-62-63-64-348-409-CHEVY-CROSS-RAM-MANIFOLD-X_W0QQitemZ390035216095QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item390035216095&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=72%3A1171%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318 You just have to make sure they will fit your manifolds bolt pattern. Many of them were dual pattern. I also found a setup that was made for inboard applications in boats. Has a bit "S" cast into but I don't know who the maker was. Chuck in NH

The croos-Ram set-up, thats possibly made by Offenhauser?? Never heard or seen that before. I would really entertain that idea on my 57 F100 shortbed, if I could find one. I thought that one that was made up by Norm Snyder in the last issue of Yblock Magazine was very interesting, especially the angle of the carb's and just the engineering of it. Michael
