Rick, I hope you can remember this from '09. By interference fit do you mean that the B6A-6549-C rocker adjusting screws, sold by Mac's, are the one piece type as opposed to the ones that have a separate lock nut (as shown in my manual). I have one that has a damaged ball and the rest are shinny and smooth. Is it normal procedure to replace all 16? I am probably going to get a new set of push rods, two have a slight wobble.

About your pushrods Mark.You should also check the cupped end for small cracks around the cup.You can change just one adjuster if thats all you need.You dont need to change them all.

Thanks Mark, I'll check for cracks. I know that at least two of the push rods need to be replaced, so I am thinking I will probably get a new set.

On the subject of Mac's B6A-6549-C rocker arm adjusting screws, their photo shows that part likely has a zinc finish. OEM's did not. How is the quality and wear?

Reason I ask is Mac's have the same shinny finish as ones I bought from Tee Bird Products sourced from Elgin back in 2008. Those had oversized soft ball heads that wouldn't fit fully in the push rod cups without grinding, an oversized thread diameter that required a 1/2" socket handle to install them and break them loose again to gap a valve and an under sized soft nut that requires a six point socket to avoid rounding off the corners. These things loose gap in less than 50 miles. Once you screw one in and out, you can forget ever using an OEM friction screw in the rocker again. You can screw on in all the way to the hex head with your fingers. I relayed all this info back at the time. I just recently spoke with them. They still can't find any other source. I bought 6 at the time. All 4 I didn't use and the 2 I did are going in the trash as soon as I locate 3 OEM lock nuts, p/n EAA-6552-A, to lock the OEM friction screws their loose fitting rockers. They can't get lock nuts either.

I was afraid of this. I guess I will keep an eye out for at least 1 OEM rocker adjusting screw.

Jerome, I did a little bit of research and it seems that there are rocker arm adjusting screws that are made with a slightly over-sized thread. To compensate for loose screws (hey I've been accused of that) I suppose. It was mentioned that the over-sized screws have a groove cut around the nut. I have seen pictures of nuts with this groove. It was also mentioned that FE screws work on Y blocks but this may be wishful thinking. Does anybody know?
