I recently got a part off e-bay that was off a early 60's F-100 for a pcv valve. It bolts to the pcv hole in the valley cover and has the small curved tube that comes off the side and angles up. I found a pcv valve that inserts inline to a rubber hose. My question is; do I need to run this line to the pcv port in the front of my Edelbrock carb, or can I use the vacuum port off the back of the intake manifold? I thought this would eliminate any possibility of sucking any oil as the factory baffle is still in place and holding the part I bought with the bolt used for the draft tube.  Thanks for viewing this and appreciate all your input. I believe the original truck setup went to the port at the back of the manifold. It will cause the rear cylinders to run leaner than the front. Best to run it to the port at the carb.

On my 63, & other 63's ive seen, it actually ran to a port that was just in front of the carb on the 2 barrel manifold.  This fixed any mixture distribution issues.

When I first used my B manifold on my 301 after the re-build, I tried the port in the rear of the manifold & indeed the 4 rear cylinders ran lean.  I believe that port is best for brake boosters.

When I switched to the eddlebrock I hooked up to the port at the front of the carb & it works perfect.

They do make open 4 barrel 1" spacers that are pre tapped with a fitting also.  I prefer a 4 hole with the secondary side notched out & blended like the factory two barrel spacers were.
