Ohh BOY..Did I screw the pooch or what.. Strippin down the vehicle to get ready for the Herculiner, and well, I undid the wrong bolt (wasn't paying attention, and it was to one of teh wiper tension assemblys) I got the assembly back on, but when i did it threw the cab;e. The cables in fine condition but I can't for teh life of me get it back onto the Wiper pulley?

WHAT SHOULD I DO!!!

Tried pullin it..lol...

I've taken off the windage tray (?) and everything to have access...Maybe i'm missing out on something?

I'm not sure I completely understand what happened. I am assuming you have vacuum wipers and you are speaking of the control cable. It hooks to the top of the wiper motor and you will have to take the wiper motor out to hook it. If you have a large factory radio, you will have to remove it. The wiper transmission is held in place with clips that have a single spring providing tension. Remove that carefully and drop the arms. There are 4 small screws that hold the motor. Remove then and you should be able to drop the motor and reattach the cable to the motor.

yeah, there's a bunch of tension still.. But behind the wiper assembly (viewable;e by the hood-latch (to the right)) it attaches to the wiper pulley. There one of the wires has disattached itself and I can't get it back on bc of the tension..

Is that any better of a description?

Crenwedge misunderstood.  I realize it is not the control cable.  Also, you do not have solid linkage arms as he described.  Anyway, on the tensioner, there is a flat spring and ratchet mechanism.  You can pull the idler pulley back, and the ratchet will hold it there.  You can then attach the cable, then take a screwdriver or something and pull the spring away from the ratchet notches, and the idler will shap into place to tighten the cable.  Hope this makes sense.

Apache:

Problem is, if you merely replace the vacuum motor with an electric, you still need the cable system.  Do you have vehicle inspections in your state?  If not, forget the wipers and coat the windshield with RainX.

I think the adjustment is done at the Tensioner Assemblies (17590 & 17591).  Hope this helps.

Have you had good luck with RainX?  I tried it but it made my windshield all "hazy" looking through the sun.  Tried to polish it out but that just took it off.  What am I doing wrong?
