Does anyone know if there was a fuel filter in the fuel system on a 56 f100 with a 272 ? Mine appears to be original and does not have one anywhere . I would rather not cut in an aftermarket type with the flexible hose on each side and hose clamps as i dont think it looks good ,although i realize it works very well. all suggestions are appreciated . Thanks

Frank

Mines not a truck, but mine was about a foot off the carb? I think if you don't have one the smartest thing would be to cut in the lin and just stick it somewhere..lol.. good luck findin it ;-)

I don't know much about Ford pickups, but the only original filter on a passenger car was in the fuel pump.

The original Service manuel for a 1956 f100 does in fact say it is in the fuel pump, I however changed my fuel pump and put on inline. As far as how it looks, they do make custom application inline filters that look good.
