OK - I have located a decent blower setup for my Y that is on the engine test stand, looking to debut this setup at the end of July in Somerset, PA - just for fun on the trailer.

You got to love tradin'. The fella I got this from swears up and down that this set up was on a Y block. Here is the crank pulley, but no number anywhere, and it has an obvious repair. Someone did balance the thing, or tried too at least...

And here is the bracket that holds the blower. For the life of me, I could not tell during mock up which way this thing is supposed to sit. It looks as if the two bolt holes are the exact same width apart as the water pump holes are,,,but I keep thinking that this looks like a passenger side bracket, not a drivers side bracket (take a look below at the airbox)...

The tensioner arm number is 37603   and    F-20940.

The airbox...

Inside the airbox is a nice little Bendix Stromberg 4 bolt carburetor with Model WW. Isn't this a Studebaker box? Could this be adapted to a Y? The blower that came with the setup says McCulloch Supercharger on the plate, not Studebaker.

Now the for two UFO's

I have no cotton-pickin' idea what these little doohickeys are. They are metal discs about 2 inches across or so. The bolts are just loose through the middle connected to a nut. Ideas?

One small bracket...

Once the blower bracket is oriented correctly, I am sure that this will come into view also.

I searched the VS57 website pretty closely. Did find the airbox, but no diagrams or good photos of the bracket and how it should bolt to the Y. Anybody running this set up and have a decent looking photo to shoot back at me?

Frank Stubbs is in Washington, and his 56 has a VR series (last I saw) but it had a McCullogh (not 57 Ford) kit in the back when he bought it. He was good enough to let me look at his F code 'birds when I was putting an SN 93 on my 'bird. I have an original VS series bracket to mount the McC on the driver side, and we reverse engineered it to the pass. side. Frank finally looked at the part in my hand and said "What's that?" When I told him he showed me what he had in the back of the wagon. My best guess is that it's either an early Stude set up, or Kaiser parts. The Kaisers were two barrel Continental sixes, I don't know about the early Stude's. The after market McCullogh kits used the long arm idler, mounted (typically) horizontally across the top of the motor. The pulley looks to have a taper, and for the 'bird, I had a shallow disc turned to fit the pulley on one side and the rivets in the stock front pulley on the other side. Frank would know about the pass. car pulley, but I don't think it has a taper. Track down Craig Conley at Paradise Wheels, he's in the vendor section at VS57, call him and tell him you're sending pictures. He's got all the old molds, and know this stuff cold. It might take a while to get him, during the Vintage Trans Am series time, he's very busy.

Frank and Miker, I sent an e-mail out to Craig Conley (with photos). We will see what he can come up with. If memory serves, I contacted him last year and he did show me a bracket for the vs57 that mounted the blower right above the timing cover. To me, I like the side location better, but only because of the way it looks. I would assume that a side mount would give easier access to the intake anyway.

Boy that was fast! Craig already contacted me and we spoke on the phone this morning. Most of the items are trade bait, unfortunately. The box is stubebaker, but the bracket and crank pulley are Y. Bracket will not work for what I am going to do, sooo... I may end up purchasing a couple of parts from him.

The discs remain unidentified.
