What gaskets & sealers/tecniques actually work?

The first item to check is the pan itself.Over the years people overtighten and distort the flat sealing surface.The torque on the bolts is about 4 lbs or just snug.The more they are tightened the worst the seal.I used a name brand gasket and  gasket maker type silicone and it worked fine.No leaks.Maybe this will help?

  

I use an over abundance of sealer/gasket maker . I dont use a gasket.
