Fellas, here's a couple photos of the work in progress. The ECZ 292 block was pulled from a 55 parts car (very solid Town Sedan that has donated its good metal to a Sunliner) and is in the process of being completely wire brushed after a good degreasing. The picture does not do it justice - I actually spent an hour going over every inch of this beloved Y.

The reason for the teapot info - I do have the small 2 barrel to go on this thing, but it would be nice to have a teapot underneath a paxton blower bonnet with that mcculloch on that bracketry we spoke of (see my other past posts). I will try to get a hold of Conley of Paradise Wheels again to pick up a few pieces.

The other shot is of a test stand that I bought from Eastwood up in PA...got to get going on this thing - the CVA show (crown victoria association) takes place late this month!

I have a good bellhousing I have cleaned up - and the motor will have some "bling" such as the chrome valve covers with the chrome decals (ford interceptor) on it. The color - actually I plan to spray a Hemi Orange followed by a light coat of the Ford Red. Blends and looks good I think...

Will keep the updates on the site...Hopefully I can get the engine done in time. yes, that is my 6 year old's go kart in the background

Re: Carbs. Disassembled & cleaned my Pony teapot a couple years ago, and now that I have a NOS brass float needle/seat, and the new O-ringed cover, will put it back in service soon.

I stored it in an air-tight bag, but fear the gaskets have likely shrunk. The expert at Pony claims only another rebuild will suffice, but I am hard-headed/suspicious enough to try it anyway. I thought maybe soaking it in a bucket of gas for a few days....? Any suggestions?

Doug.  Thanks for the info on the 4100 carb kits.  Any one have an idea who has the best pricing for the secondary diaphrams for the model 4000 Holleys (Teapots).

Yes it had a new secondary diaphragm. As far as I remember I did not reuse any old elastomeric parts.  The carb I have was a freebee and had been "reworked" a little.  The Carb Dr web site had info from the part number which identified the carb as an obscure Mercury FE carb from the mid '60's.  It is a 1.13 venturi and I would slightly prefer a 1.08 but not enough to make much fuss over it and of course the price was right!!
