I’ll add that 1954 and 1955 are 6 volt while 1956-1964 are 12 volt.

Ted: Not being nit-picky, but his question was, what years will FIT? I should have mentioned that the 6 cylinder versions will "fit" but the post for the cable will be awfully close to the block. Of course you are correct about the voltage.

What about F.E. starters?, they also interchange but I forget the exact years. Richard Gaston said they worked great. I know F.E. fuel pumps work well too on a Y.
