Tom: I have a picture of his car at the '57 meet, in the pits, he's not in the picture. I'll ask him if he has any action shots and if it's OK to post them. I can't say he's not in the Houston area, because as much as he travels, he could be anywhere at any time. However, he does not reside in your state.

Thanks for the update, John. When you again get in touch, would you inquire about any photos of the much heralded 56 Victoria in action at Bonneville? Is Karol still located in the Houston area (you mentioned heat)? If so we can arrange to get copies made and scanned of any pics. Regards. TC Austin, TX

I was surprised by Karol's interest in the 223 I-block 6 (and recent reports of torque equal to Y-V8s). As a kid, I sneered at all the hotrod-6 magazine spreads, thinking: "why bother"? Live & learn.

A couple months ago Karol's name came up on this site, and I commented that I needed to write him, hadn't done so for a while. Yesterday, I got a letter from him. He's doing fine, doesn't like the heat at home, is planning to visit the other side of the equator where it's winter. Going next month. Unfortunately, he no longer suscribes to YBM, so he is out of the information loop. Has no computer either. The only other thing he mentioned that would be of interest to this group is that he visited Red Hamilton, who told him he has sold his header business. No further details.
