This is pic of Argy heads and webers, i would assume the runners would have to be a lot shorter for T-bird hood clearance. regards aussiebill.

I started this thread about the 56 Tbird with the 4 Weber IDAs that I saw at the GoodGuys car show in Pleasanton Ca a couple of weeks ago. After a lot of thought I decided that block was a 312 but because of the way the Webers were mounted that the heads did not have stacked intake ports like a Yblock. So I would have to guess that the engine had the later Argentina made Yblock heads with conventional intake port arrangement. The car is a black 1956 Tbird and really very nice. If anybody knows of this car please take the picture of this engine that I did not take. Pete

Ted. I don`t think that is the manifold. This car had a stock hood and the Webers did not use velocity stacks and even without the stacks those carbs would be too high on that manifold. The carbs mounted at the same angle as the intake ports on the heads and the top of the carbs were closer than the bases. I think the manifold was cast and not welded. Again sorry no picture. Pete

Pete.  Was it this intake?

Here’s the link to a past thread discussing it.

I was at a carshow today and saw a black 1956 Tbird with a 312 engine and it had 4 Weber 2 barrel downdraft carbs on an aluminum manifold. Has anyone else ever seen or heard of this before? A really nice clean car and of course I did not have my camera. Reminded me of those Gurney Westlake kits for the Ford smallblock. Pete
