why not use the stock FORD engine mounts for a full size Ford 1963-1964 with a 289 the only difference I can remember on the frame crossmember between the late fifty's cars and the early sixty's fullsize ,is the changed from 2 bolts in frame to 1 bolt

hey guys thanks for the input i found the adapter plate its from transmission adapters, is that the same one you used? the stupid thing is like 675 dollars !!! but i guess its worth it in the long run. i was doing alot of thinking and i decided i'm going to buy a decent running 292 to put in my car temp. so that i dont have to change mounts and buy new crossmembers right now. the only other things i will need is the radiator cored, engine mounts, crossmember, and a new driveshaft. anything else yall can think of?

yep im still in the navy i'm in mayport onboard cg 58

thanks!!! -jason

I\ll try again - got kicked off or the site went down???? the first time.

I assume you want to put the 302 and C4 into the 62. I also assume that the 62 mounting for the TBlock is pretty much the same as a 54-56 and there are the same clearance problems. If not, this can throw the following off.

Use 64/65 Ford Fairlane mounts (and I assume these mounts were used in other years). You have to put in a spacer between the mount and the block for clearance issues. Whatt pan to use depends on the car. The 54-56's use a front sump pan, the 62 may be different. If using a front sump pan, you have to use the front cover with the dipstick hole in it. What ever pan you use, make sure you use he corresponding oil pick tube and screen. Some require a special bolt that is used in one of the main caps.

what the he double hocky sticks tranny is that
( w00t what ever you do don't do a search for "tranny" !! w00t )

It's a Ford E4OD originally from a 94 F450. I had the transmission expert rebuild it for me and use a case that matched the small block (302/351 and 300 cu-in 6) so I could use the Bendtsen adpater.

I also needed the tail mounted parking brake since the 55 F600 doesn't have any provision for a parking brake on the rear brakes...

I needed a pretty strong trans since my GVW is about 15000 lbs. The F450 has a similar GVW rating so I expect it to be "just right" for anything I want to haul or tow!

Howdy Jason,

You're going to need an adapter plate similar to the one I used below. I don't know if you've priced them but none of them are really very cheap.

You still in the NAVY?

Cheers,
