I am in process of rebuilding my 55 bird and i am into the engine now and just need to know what cam would work best. looking for  mild street stuff "lopey" (is that a word) sound. any info would help.have c4 trans hooked up to it now. thanks 55birdmanSmile

I think that the design of the Y-block makes it sound naturally 'lopey'. The firing order helps, and the relatively close LSA (usually 110 degrees) that's made possible by the high rod ratio helps, too.



I'd go with either the Isky E-4 (108 degree LSA) or Mummert's 264 or 265 cam.
