Well i was adjusting the slight play in the power steering assist rod and pitman arm. i tightened up the nut a bit and just left enough play . Now i am having a strange issue..i tried adjusting the return nut one way and another i do notice a diference but when turning to th left i get no or very little assist when turning right super sooth with 1 finger you can turn it. What could be wrong? It was working perfect would center and all before and all i did was remove some play in the fittings? any help. thanks

not sure if you solved your p/s problem yet,but if not, remove the 2 cap screws on the end of the control valve, you will see a 1/2 in nut on the end of a threaded rod.turn nut in until it stops.note:not a lot of force to be used here.back it off 1/4 of a turn.that will center the control valve.now there is supposed to be play in the bushing where the pitman arm attaches to the ball stud with the engine off.when you start the engine the pressure from the pump will neutralize and when you turn the wheel the spool valve inside the control valve diverts fluif pressure to the ram cylinder giving you the power assist.if that bushing is damaged and frozen it could also cause your p/s concern.jim
