For most performance builds, centering the pushrods in their respective cylinder head holes is the easiest route.  Going to the trouble of squaring the pushrods with the lifters simply insures that each valve will have exactly the same lift providing all other variables are also equal.  The difference in lifts between the two different setups is negligible except in those extreme cases where a single horsepower is being looked for or the engine is running consistently in the 7000 rpm range.

best wishes to all

this is for T. Eaton or any one who can explain. Ted wrote an article in "Y-Block Magazine" #85 re orientation of roller rocker lash adjuster offset positions.

Apparently there are two approaches one centers the push rod in the push rod holes the other sets the push rods at 90 degrees to the lifters requiring some modification to the push rod holes and small diam push rods and diferent numbers of left, right and centered adjusters. what are the advantages/disadvatages and does this mean the push rods are normally leaning front to rear? this is doing my head in.

looking forward to some peace of mind    thanks stuey
