Nothing wrong with the stock Ford pump or the Melling replacement.  With no hydraulic lifters, the Y has a relatively low oil volume requirement.

I am in the process of rebuilding my 292.I have a line on a NOS Ford oil pump for a good price.I am doing a stock rebuild. Is the original Ford oil pump sufficient or is there a better pump I should consider like the Mellings pump or another aftermarket pump?
