hey guys, I have a question regaurding how deep is a car bellhousing????? when i say depth I am curious as to how deep from the bellhousing/motor flange to the transmission mouting flange and if you by chance have the depth for a truck bellhousing that would be great too.  The reason i ask is I have a truck with a 292 and a 4speed in it and i wanna put the heavier duty tko 500 in it just for reliability due to my heavy right foot, the fact that the tko is stronger than the t-5 and my understanding is that the tko input shaft is roughyl 1/4" longer than a t-5 and the tranny bolt pattern is different so, an adapter needs to be made and i need to figure out how thick the adapter needs to be.

64 I did a T5 swap this year and I just ground down the input shaft and all is well.  Another option on how to skin the problem.  You might check with Mummert as he has adapters but it depends on the year of the transmission.  Bing

I'm sure that they are the same depth, but I have both and will measure when I get back out there.
