Thanks Gary, you hit it exactly. The nuts were loose on the little u bolts on one side at the rear. I tightened them up and took it for a test drive, I'm back to my regular vibrations again. I've never replaced the u joints , I've owned the truck since 1978. I'm going to order some tomorrow. That's good for another tenth, right?

Have you checked your U-joints front and rear for being loose or worn?I,ve had that happen to me before.One time the bolts were loose that held the U-joint to the 3rd member and the other time the joints were worn out.>Gary

I've got a driveline vibration that started this weekend. On a smooth road when I'm on the gas it's not there, when I let off the gas it starts right away. Any thoughts on what I need to look for? '54 f 100  3 spd w/overdrive  3.92 rear
