This is posted on e-bay. (#EDB-9603-C) Just curious as to the purpose of this spacer? Was it used on the "B" manifold or will it also work in the "A" manifold.

He is probably referring to eBay item 350287462463 I think I have a spacer like it, but mine doesn't have a part number on it.

That particular spacer is for the ‘B’ manifold which fits the model 4150/4160 Holleys. The carb to intake spacer plates in ’57 came both as metal or phenolic material and each was ½” in height. The bolt pattern for this spacer is too large for the ‘A’ manifold or the model 4000 Holleys (Teapot).

I realize this part "may" be original equipment for the "B" manifold, but surely the price is eBay gone mad.
You can buy a spacer which will do the same job from Summit Racing for 1/3 the cost of this item.
People wanting such exorbitant money for items such as this are contributing to the price of our vehicles resto projects skyrocketing at an exorbitant rate.
There may be a warm fuzzy feeling coming from using a part with a Ford Part number, but when you consider it is hidden under a carby under an air cleaner and the numbers are on the gasket surface and cannot be seen, it does seem a bit ludicrous.
I'll get off my soapbox.
