I have a '312 Y-Block with chrome valve covers that say...."Ford" stamped in them. These are not import repops. When you turn them over....there is a band of steel running all the way around the bottom that was spot welded in before chroming.  Did Ford Motor Co. offer them as an option on some models?  All input greatly appreciated. They are in excellent condition.  Thanks............Ron

I think these were the later YBlock valve covers. The early ones had the decals , the later ones were stamped. As far as the piece running around the inside, the stamped ones I have have this. The only thing is the chrome - I have never seen these plated, they may have been done by someone later.
