Fellas- I was told that when filling a manual 3 speed gearbox after a rebuild, it only requires 3 pints (24 oz ) of gear oil. I have no way to verify this, although it doesn't sound like enough to me. Is this correct? -Thanks- /Duck

Just checked my '57 shop manuel and it states 3 pints on standard and overdrive transmissions except T-Bird with 3 speed overdrive will take 4.5 pints. KID

Regardless of what the book says, you fill it up to the hole in the side.

Well, as it turns out, 3 pints isn't 24 oz's but rather 48 oz's ( a quart and a half) So, 3 pts IS the magic number... /Duck
