The first chore I have to get the 57Tbird 312 up to snuff is a Fordomatic leak. The trans works fine and has for 12 years or more. It feels like it may have been "shift-kitted" at some point as it will bark the tires on a full throttle 1-2 upshift. I had the car up on a rack with the starter out some years ago and determined (if I remember correctly) that the fluid was coming from either the front pump seal or the torque converter. The fact that working on the trans meant pulling the engine/trans together stopped me from getting that done. The time has come to repair it. I have a good cherry picker, full set of Snapon tools from my old days as a Ford Tech, large garage, etc. so no excuses there. Any advice on this job will appreciated.
