I need a little help. I just purchased all new weatherstrips for my 56 club sedan. They are not pre bent. However they do have locating pins like the OEM part.

My question, How do you bend these without destroying them? They are over $40 a piece.

I thought they would come bent. The package states they were made by Dale's Manufacturing Co. I couldn't find them on the web to call and ask them.

Any help will be appreciated.

Jim

Jim,

I assume you're referring to the window channels or runs as they sometimes are called.I just replaced all of them on my 56 Club Sedan.I bought them from T-Bird Products and they were made by Dennis Carpenter. They were pre-bent and fit pretty well, although they are not perfect. If yours are just straight pieces,I don't see any way you could bend these things to make them fit without kinking them.

I contacted Dennis Carpenter a few years back and he gave me a number for a guy that makes the bent window guide channels. Without making a jig I don't think you could bend them on your own. Chuck

Thanks guys,

These are the window channels. I purchased them from Bird Haven. I didn't even look at Dennis Carpenters catalog.

I like to buy from local guys if I can. Upon further examination I may be able to bend these.

Wish me luck!
